Flea Treatment Preparation List

1. Declutter and Clear the Space:

Before any flea treatment, it’s crucial to declutter the area to be treated. This includes picking up toys, shoes, and clothing from the floors. Fleas can hide in these items, making it essential to clear them to ensure the treatment’s effectiveness.

Additionally, remove items from under beds and sofas. Fleas love dark, hidden spots, and by clearing these potential hiding spots, you create a more effective treatment environment.

2. Vacate the Premises:

During the flea treatment, it’s necessary for both animals and people to leave the premises for approximately 2-3 hours. This precaution is taken to ensure safety during the treatment process.

3. Pre-Treatment Vacuuming:

Before the treatment, thoroughly vacuum all areas, including floors and carpets, to stimulate flea eggs to hatch, making them more susceptible to treatment.

3. Protect Your Pets:

If you have fish, birds, or reptiles as pets, take special care to protect them during the treatment. Cover their cages or aquariums with a wet cloth to prevent any potential harm from the products used in flea treatments. Your pets’ safety is a top priority.

3. Post-Treatment Vacuuming:

Vacuuming plays a crucial role in flea treatment. After the treatment, vacuum again to remove any dead fleas and eggs. You can vacuum as much as you can after treatment to stimulate more eggs to hatch. Ensure that you dispose of the vacuum bag or clean the canister to prevent any fleas from escaping.

Proper preparation, including decluttering, clearing hiding spots, and consistent vacuuming, is essential to the success of indoor flea treatments.
